Born and proudly raised in Pahiatua, Brett Davey has over 45 years experience in the industry and has been with BBD for almost as long. . His education commenced at St Anthony’s school in Pahiatua before attending secondary school at Tararua College also in Pahiatua where he went on to become head boy of the school and captain of the 1st XV.
A passion for business and finance then took him on to Massey University in Palmerston North where he completed a Bachelor of Business Studies majoring in Accounting and Finance and ultimately membership of The New Zealand Institute of Chartered Accountants. A year working as an auditor in Napier was followed by 2 years overseas in Europe to round off his education and readiness to return to Pahiatua and the business of creating business success. Brett is a big picture thinker, happiest when helping businesses get off the ground and working closely with the owners to establish what success looks like and feels like for them. He is also one of New Zealand’s foremost advisors and negotiators in the wind energy sector with particular expertise in advising and acting for landowners involved in windfarm development.
